Vi Intelligence Lab Launches with PwC India to Drive Enterprise AI

Vi Intelligence is a new strategic initiative from Vodafone Idea (Vi) to drive artificial intelligence-led transformation across its internal operations, consumer services and enterprise clients in different industries. The company aims to develop and deploy AI solutions that address business needs.

At the centre of the initiative is the Vi Intelligence Lab, established with PwC India. The lab will work on enterprise-grade AI solutions, combining Vi’s telecom and digital infrastructure with PwC India’s business transformation capabilities. PwC India will also set up a dedicated Centre of Excellence (CoE) team co-located with Vi in Mumbai.

The Vi Intelligence Lab is designed to develop, incubate and deploy AI solutions for enterprises. It will act as an innovation bridge between international AI leaders, emerging startups, academic and research ecosystems, and enterprise clients. The aim is to address complex business challenges with practical solutions.

The collaboration brings together Vi’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure and PwC India’s business transformation capabilities. A dedicated PwC India Centre of Excellence team will work alongside Vi in Mumbai to support the initiative.

Three Core Pillars of Vi Intelligence

The lab’s solutions across consumer, enterprise and operational areas will be developed around three main pillars.

Agentic AI

Agentic AI refers to autonomous systems that can execute complex, multi-step workflows. The lab will explore solutions built around this approach for business processes.

Assistive AI

Assistive AI is intended to improve human productivity and decision-making across enterprise operations. It focuses on supporting people as they carry out their work.

Sovereign and Responsible AI

This pillar covers data localisation, ethical standards and robust security protocols. It is designed to address responsible use and compliance needs while AI solutions are developed and deployed.

Vi GRACIE Framework for Responsible AI

All use cases developed at the Vi Intelligence Lab will be evaluated under GRACIE, Vi’s proprietary Responsible AI framework. It is intended to enforce ethical data usage, secure intellectual property and maintain regulatory alignment throughout the AI lifecycle.

The framework will apply to the lab’s AI use cases across consumer, enterprise and operational domains. It forms part of the initiative’s governance approach for responsible AI development.

The initiative includes programmes for developing ideas, testing solutions and moving verified concepts towards enterprise deployment. Its key areas of work include:
