Jio AI Glasses Demonstrate UPI Payments at IMC 2026

• Jio demonstrated AI smart glasses making a UPI payment without taking out the smartphone.
• The upcoming glasses come in audio-focused and camera-based visual intelligence versions.
• Jio also demonstrated live navigation through its upcoming AI earbuds at IMC 2026.

Jio demonstrated its upcoming AI smart glasses at India Mobile Congress 2026, including a camera-based version that showed a UPI payment being made without taking the smartphone out. The demonstration highlighted how the glasses could combine camera and visual intelligence with an everyday payment task.

Jio also showed two glasses versions and upcoming AI earbuds at the event. One glasses version focuses on audio and includes the Hello Jio voice assistant, while the other adds camera and visual intelligence features. The earbuds demonstrated live navigation.

Jio AI Glasses Demonstrated UPI Payments

The camera and visual intelligence version of the Jio AI glasses demonstrated a UPI payment during the IMC 2026 showcase. The demonstration showed the payment being made without taking the smartphone out, but it did not establish that the glasses can handle every payment function independently of a smartphone.

Jio has not confirmed payment authentication details, security arrangements or supported phones in the reported demonstration. Those details should not be assumed from the showcase.

Two Jio AI Glasses Versions Shown

Jio showed two versions of its upcoming AI smart glasses. The first is an audio-focused stainless-steel frame with the Hello Jio voice assistant.

The second version adds a camera and visual intelligence capabilities. This is the version used for the UPI payment demonstration at IMC 2026.

Jio AI Glasses Features Highlighted by Jio

Jio’s official JioFrames page describes the product context around voice AI, photos, music, hands-free calls, translation, live streaming and fitness tips. These features provide context for the upcoming smart glasses, but the page does not confirm the UPI payment demonstration reported from IMC 2026.

The UPI demonstration and the official JioFrames product context should therefore be treated separately. The IMC showcase demonstrated the payment use case, while the official product page lists the broader capabilities associated with JioFrames.

Jio AI Earbuds Demonstrated Live Navigation

Jio also demonstrated its upcoming AI earbuds at the event. The earbuds were shown providing live navigation, adding another example of how Jio is exploring AI features in wearable devices.

Jio AI Glasses Launch Timing Is Not Confirmed

December 2026 has been reported as a possible timing for the Jio AI glasses and earbuds, but it has not been officially confirmed. Jio has also not confirmed the price, battery life, camera specifications or supported phones.

The IMC 2026 demonstration therefore provides a look at the features shown by Jio, rather than confirmation of a commercial launch, final specifications or customer pricing. For broader context, Jio’s IMC 2026 technology showcase also covers other India-built AI and connectivity concepts.
