• watchOS 27.2 is available for Apple Watch Series 9 and newer, with a download of around 1GB.
• The update improves Siri AI with conversation memory, more personal sources and quicker replies on Apple Watch.
• Install iOS 27.2 on the paired iPhone first, then update watchOS through the Watch app.

Apple has released watchOS 27.2 for eligible Apple Watch models after more than a month of testing. The update builds on the recent Siri upgrade, adding better ways for Siri AI to use personal context and respond more quickly on the watch.

Apple also rolled out iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2 and macOS Golden Gate 27.2 on the same day. watchOS 27.2 is a free update, carries build number 24S118 and has a download size of around 1GB.

What’s New in the Update

The main changes focus on Siri AI and the information it can use to answer requests. Siri can now recall earlier conversations, such as a restaurant it suggested the previous week, so users can refer back to past recommendations.

Siri AI can also use more information from the paired iPhone. This includes photos attached in Messages, people invited to Calendar events and voicemails. Apple says Safari history and Reading List results are improved as well.

A new Excluded Apps setting on iPhone lets users choose which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can access. The update also brings faster Siri responses on Apple Watch and adds Siri AI language support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.

Apple notes that Siri AI is not available in the European Union or mainland China. watchOS 27.2 also includes additional features, bug fixes and security updates.

Compatibility and Update Details

Apple Watch users who are still running an earlier release can also read our guide to the iOS 27.2 release candidate for iPhone, which previously covered the release candidate for the watch update.

The new Siri features are designed to connect requests with context already available on the iPhone, including earlier conversations and selected app information. For example, users may be able to revisit a restaurant recommendation from the previous week or get answers informed by a Calendar attendee or a voicemail. Excluded Apps provides a single place on iPhone to control which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can access. More details about Apple’s software platform are available on Apple’s watchOS page.
