The smartphone market in India continues to heat up, and Motorola is all set to make its next big move. With the official announcement of the Moto g86 Power 5G India launch on July 30, the company is aiming to strengthen its presence in the mid-range 5G segment. This device follows the global release from May, but the Indian variant packs a few unique tweaks that set it apart.

One of the key changes is the inclusion of the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset in place of the Dimensity 7300 seen in the global model. Combined with high-end display specs, a powerful battery, and modern design, Motorola seems to have tailored this device for Indian smartphone users who crave performance without breaking the bank.

Motorola has confirmed that the phone will come with Android 15 right out of the box, offering two OS upgrades and four years of security updates. That makes it an attractive choice for those who plan to keep their phones for longer durations.

The Moto g86 Power 5G features a 6.67-inch 1.5K curved pOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches an impressive peak brightness of up to 4500 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, making it both sharp and durable. It offers smooth scrolling, punchy colours, and great outdoor visibility.

It’s powered by the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor with a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The Indian version offers 8GB LPDDR4x RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Plus, you get the option to expand storage up to 1TB via a microSD card, thanks to its hybrid SIM slot.

When it comes to photography, the phone features a dual rear setup with a 50MP primary camera using the Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera that also handles macro shots. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture, ideal for high-quality video calls and self-portraits.

Audio is another area where Motorola delivers. The phone includes stereo speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos and USB Type-C audio support. It also packs dual microphones to ensure better voice clarity during calls or recordings.

The Moto g86 Power is designed to withstand daily wear and tear, with an IP68 and IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. It even carries MIL-STD 810H certification for durability.

For connectivity, you get 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and USB Type-C. Everything you’d expect in a well-rounded 5G phone is present.

Powering it all is a massive 6720mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. This ensures that you can easily get through a full day or more without worrying about running out of charge. It’s the kind of battery backup that heavy users will really appreciate.

The phone will be available in three PANTONE-certified colours: Cosmic Sky, Golden Cypress, and Spellbound, giving users stylish choices. The official pricing details will be revealed during the launch event on July 30.

The Moto g86 Power looks like a well-balanced smartphone built for Indian users who need strong performance, long battery life, and premium features at a mid-range price point. With a curved pOLED display, modern chipset, and reliable durability, it checks all the right boxes for 2025’s competitive market.
