REDMI Wide-Screen Phone Reportedly in Development for 2027

• REDMI is reportedly developing a wide-screen candybar phone, according to an unconfirmed leak report.
• The report points to a possible 2027 launch, but REDMI has not confirmed any timeline.
• OPPO and HONOR are also reportedly exploring similar phones, while Huawei has moved ahead.

The REDMI wide-screen phone is reportedly in development, according to an unconfirmed leak report. The device is said to use a wide-screen candybar design, which means a traditional straight phone body rather than a foldable format.

The same report points to a possible launch in 2027. However, REDMI has made no official announcement, and the reported launch year is not confirmed. The device itself, its design plans and its timeline should all be treated as unverified.

What the REDMI Wide-Screen Phone Leak Claims

The leak report attributes the project to REDMI, Xiaomi’s sub-brand. It describes a wide-screen candybar phone that would keep the usual straight smartphone form while using a wider screen shape.

There are no confirmed details about the screen size, aspect ratio, processor, cameras, battery, memory or price. REDMI has not announced the product, so the report should not be treated as confirmation that the phone will reach the market.

What Is a Wide-Screen Candybar Phone?

A candybar phone has a single, straight body and does not fold in the middle. In this case, the term wide-screen describes the reported screen shape. It does not confirm a particular display size or screen ratio for the REDMI device.

The REDMI wide-screen phone is therefore being discussed as a different take on the regular smartphone design, not as a foldable phone. The leak does not explain how wide the screen may be or how the design would affect everyday use.

OPPO and HONOR Are Also Reportedly Exploring Similar Phones

REDMI is not the only brand named in the report. OPPO and HONOR are also said to be working on similar wide-screen devices. The report does not give confirmed product names, specifications or launch plans for either company.

MobileTelco has separately covered the OPPO Find W wide-screen phone, whose teaser highlights a 16:10 screen. That is a separate OPPO report and does not confirm REDMI’s plans.

The same leak report says Huawei has already taken the lead in this area. It does not provide further details about Huawei’s device or explain how the different brands’ plans compare.

REDMI 2027 Launch Timeline Is Not Confirmed

The year 2027 is only a reported target in the unconfirmed leak. REDMI has not confirmed a launch date, launch market or retail availability. There is also no official information about the phone’s name, specifications or price. For company updates, visit Xiaomi’s official website.

More details may emerge if the project moves forward, but the current report is not enough to confirm that a REDMI wide-screen phone will launch. Any future claims about its design or hardware will need separate confirmation.

Conclusion

An unconfirmed leak report says REDMI is developing a wide-screen candybar phone for a possible 2027 launch. OPPO and HONOR are also reportedly exploring similar devices, while Huawei is said to be ahead. REDMI has not confirmed the phone or its launch timeline.
